Psalm 38:4-11

⁵ My wounds^(C) fester and are loathsome^(D)
    because of my sinful folly.^(E)
6 I am bowed down^(F) and brought very low;
    all day long I go about mourning.^(G)
7 My back is filled with searing pain;^(H)
    there is no health^(I) in my body.
⁸ I am feeble and utterly crushed;^(J)
    I groan^(K) in anguish of heart.^(L)

⁹ All my longings^(M) lie open before you, Lord;
    my sighing^(N) is not hidden from you.
¹⁰ My heart pounds,^(O) my strength fails^(P) me;
    even the light has gone from my eyes.^(Q)
11 My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds;^(R)
    my neighbors stay far away.
